Winter time in northern Michigan is breathtaking. The waters of the Straits are hushed and frozen. The birds have all gone south for the winter. The results…it is extremely quiet. The morning air was clear and crisp a mere -12 degrees with a wind chill of about 30 below. I loved it. I decided to venture out and take a few pictures for you before the lake effect snow starts. So hitch up the dog sled and come along.
The morning began with a beautiful sunrise from my room.
I drove down by the shoreline hoping to get pictures of the ice waves. I was disappointed. There were no ice waves to speak of. I did shoot some pictures of the straits for you. I hope you enjoyed my morning out.
