A Star Spangled Fourth

President John Adams believed that the U.S. should celebrate the Fourth of July with the ringing of church bells , fireworks and a day of celebration. Well, that’s exactly what we do in Mackinaw. From morning to nightfall, there are very entertaining activities for kids of all ages. This includes everything from a penny hunt in saw dust to a Frisbee toss competition. How about an old fashioned picnic at Fort Mackinac or perhaps watch a baseball game played by 1890’s rules? The evening ends with the largest fireworks display in the north. One can view the Mackinaw City fireworks in front of the motel and then sit outside your room and enjoy the fireworks display over the Straits of Mackinac from St Ignace and Mackinac Island.
The Fourth of July is an awesome opportunity for families to enjoy an old fashioned holiday in a beautiful scenic area. There is so much to do and I will keep you informed of all the activities so you will not miss a thing.
